WORLD THROUGH MY EYES
Animated short film (2019)
This project was made in my last year of junior college. It describes the everyday lives of individuals, every human's innate desire for connection and interaction. Animation medium here seeks to illustrate how the brain attempts to translate what we see to what we understand.

Storyboards

The first individual introduced. A bouncy personality inspired from a friend, she kickstarts the film through music.

The character representing a digital age, and his actions show an indirect way of creating friendships (online).

Following the music, they are the everyday people you pass, especially during peak-periods.

Preparation and Conceptualisation
Based off a dream I had about being in a hawker centre in the middle of the night and buying a bowl of fishball noodles. The focus of the project was to experiment with the whimsical movements of form achieved with animation. Hence, the idea of "fish+ball=fishball" came to fruition.
Besides brainstorming and doing studies, the process also involved making the music with GarageBand and making a storyboard, as well as character designs.

会唱歌的青蛙
animated music video
A personal project. A short animated music video using the track "我还年轻,我还年轻" by the Taiwanese band 老王乐队. The song sings about "still being young", while simultaneously using it as an excuse for bad decisions and laziness. This song was my anthem for a good part of my 2020 year.

UNCANNY SERIES
An impromptu series that began as I attempted to grasp the never-ending abyss known as Photoshop.
Inspired by the work of Andreas Gursky, these works attempt to collage multiple images and elements in ways that seem perfectly normal at first glance, yet deeply peculiar the more you look.
